Le Ballet Petit is a non-profit organization that only charges what is necessary
to meet operating expenses. Tuition is calculated on a calendar divided into
four-week terms. Tuition is non-refundable. No fees may be transferred
or extended or deducted. Students will be automatically re-enrolled for the
next term unless the desk staff is notified by the student or parent. Each student
must pay a registration fee of $12 once a year. A $10 re-entry fee will be assessed
for any student who misses a term for non-medical reasons.
LE BALLET PETIT is dedicated to providing quality dance education and performance opportunities for children and adults. LE BALLET PETIT admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational and admissions policies and its scholarship program.
All Students should enter the studio wearing their street clothes and
dress for class in the dressing rooms located in the basement. Dressing for
class in the lobby is not permitted. Outer clothing is not allowed in class.
Jewelry is not to be worn. Gum is not permitted.
Ages 3-4
Girls must wear solid color leotards and tights and pink ballet shoes.
Boys must wear sweat pants and t-shirts and black ballet shoes.
Ballet Students Ages 5 & up
Girls/women must wear solid color leotards and tights and pink ballet shoes.
Hair must always be pinned back and up.
Boys/men must wear sweat/jazz pants (black preferred), t-shirts and black ballet
shoes.
Tap Students Ages 6 & up
Students must wear either leotards and tights or sweat/jazz pants (black preferred)
and t-shirts, and black tap shoes.
Hip Hop Students
Jazz attire is preferred (Jazz pants & leotard & jazz shoes) or loose
fitting clothes with clean gym shoes (that will only be used during class and
not on the street).
Students must arrive ten minutes before class and change their clothing in the dressing rooms downstairs. Young students will be escorted by the class assistant to class from the dressing room. At the end of class, young students will be escorted back down to the dressing room. Parents should be present to assist in dressing if needed and promply pick up their children.
Absences will be excused and make-ups permitted if the desk staff is notified before the class scheduled class ends. Students will be automatically re-enrolled for the next term unless the desk is notified before the first class of the term. A $10.00 re-entry fee will be assessed for any student who missed a term for non-medical reasons.
Students must be picked up promptly. In case of emergency, please call the studio at (773)463-3385 and inform the desk staff so arrangements can be made to insure the safety of the student.
Parents and family members are invited to observe the class during Parent Watching Week. Parent Watching Week is held the 1st week of the 3rd, 6th, and 10th terms. Questions and comments should be reserved until the end of class. Photographing and video recording will be permitted during the last fifteen minutes. Young siblings are welcome, but their behavior must not distract or interfere with class instruction.
A dance recital concludes the last term of the school year. All students are invited to participate. Students will be measured for costumes the first two weeks of January. The average cost of costumes for kinder is $40, basic is $45 and for intermediate and above $50. 4 tickets must be purchased by the family of each performing student. Tickets are first sold on the first Sunday in May.
Students who are cast to perform in The Nutcracker or the spring ballet are required to pay a non-refundable $15 costume fee. Each dancer under the age of 18 is required to have a volunteer sponsor who will perform at least 4 hours of work. 6 tickets must be purchased by the family of each dancer under the age of 18.
Meetings are held on Fridays at 8pm or Sundays at 7pm at the studio. The meeting schedule is posted and all are welcome to attend and become involved.
